Privacy Policy

AlumniCare
Last updated: October 1, 2026

AlumniCare (“AlumniCare,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit alumnicare.org, contact us, request information, or apply for or maintain an AlumniCare healthcare sharing membership.

AlumniCare is a healthcare sharing membership. It is not insurance and is not an insurance company. Membership is offered in partnership with the National Football League Alumni Association.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • Visitors to our website

  • People who submit a form, request information, or ask to be contacted

  • Prospective members and current members

  • Association partners and their representatives who work with us

If a third-party administrator, sharing ministry, payment processor, or association partner has its own privacy notice, that notice also applies to information you give directly to them.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information collected automatically, and information from partners.

Information you provide

  • Name, postal address, email address, and phone number

  • Association or alumni affiliation

  • Date of birth, household members, and similar eligibility details

  • Health information you choose to share, including pre-existing conditions, medical history, and information needed to evaluate or administer a sharing request

  • Billing and contribution information

  • Messages you send through our contact form or member communications

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system

  • Pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate location derived from IP address

  • Cookie identifiers and similar technologies

  • Referring website or campaign

Information from others

  • Information from an association partner that refers you

  • Information from a sharing administrator, medical provider, or payment vendor as needed to administer a membership or sharing request

  • Publicly available information used to verify an affiliation, where relevant

We do not require you to submit sensitive health information just to browse the site. Do not include medical details in a general website contact form unless we ask for them in a secure membership or sharing process.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact page

  • Explain membership options and determine whether sharing is a fit

  • Enroll members, collect contributions, and administer memberships

  • Evaluate and process sharing requests

  • Verify association affiliation

  • Operate, secure, and improve the website

  • Measure interest in our pages and campaigns

  • Meet legal, regulatory, and audit obligations

  • Detect and prevent fraud or misuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use health information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed for the purposes above:

  • With the healthcare sharing ministry, administrator, or escrow partner that operates the membership and sharing process

  • With the National Football League Alumni Association or another association partner, when that relationship is how you were introduced to AlumniCare or is required to administer the membership

  • With payment processors and banks that handle contributions

  • With vendors that host the site, provide email or form tools, support member service, or provide IT and security services, under confidentiality obligations

  • With medical providers or facilities when you ask us to help with a sharing request

  • With professional advisors, auditors, or regulators when required

  • If we are involved in a merger, reorganization, or transfer of operations, subject to this policy or a successor notice

  • When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of members, AlumniCare, or others

We do not share health information with advertisers.

5. Health information

Membership and sharing requests may require health information. We use that information to determine eligibility, apply sharing guidelines, and administer a request.

AlumniCare is not an insurance company. Depending on the role of AlumniCare and its vendors, some health information may not be “protected health information” under HIPAA in the same way it would be at a hospital or health plan. Even so, we limit access to health information to people who need it, require vendors that handle it to protect it, and do not use it for advertising.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to run the site, remember preferences, understand traffic, and measure campaigns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect site features. We do not respond to “do not track” signals except where required by law.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as needed to administer a membership or sharing request, respond to an inquiry, meet tax, audit, and legal requirements, and resolve disputes. Inquiry records that do not become a membership are kept only as long as needed for follow-up and recordkeeping.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete certain information, subject to legal and membership recordkeeping needs

  • Opt out of marketing emails

  • Appeal a denial of a privacy request

To make a request, use our contact page: https://www.alumnicare.org/contact-us. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. You may also authorize an agent where state law allows.

California residents may request the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of recipients, and may request deletion, subject to exceptions. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

9. Children

The website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. A parent or guardian may provide information about a minor household member as part of a family membership.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted transmission where appropriate. No website or storage system is completely secure.

11. Links and third-party sites

Our site may link to association partners, administrators, or other third parties. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before submitting information to them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. If a change materially affects member health information, we will provide a clearer notice as required by law.
